LEESON SyMAX-PRO 3D product animation
Making Complex Motor Technology Visible
The LEESON SyMAX-PRO is a highly engineered permanent-magnet motor designed for commercial HVAC applications. Its value extends beyond what customers can see from the exterior.
Internal components, integrated electronic controls, connectivity, construction details, and serviceability features all contribute to the product’s story. However, those advantages can be difficult to explain through conventional product photography or technical documentation alone.
Regal Rexnord needed a visual asset that could translate sophisticated motor engineering into a product story that engineers, equipment manufacturers, distributors, contractors, and other stakeholders could understand more quickly. That is exactly the kind of problem 3D product animation for industrial manufacturers is built to solve.
THE CHALLENGE
A Highly Engineered Product With Advantages Hidden Inside
Many of the SyMAX-PRO motor’s most important features are located inside the assembled product or are difficult to demonstrate through static imagery.
A traditional photograph could show the motor’s exterior, but it could not clearly reveal how its internal components work together, how the integrated controller relates to the motor design, or what differentiates the product’s permanent-magnet architecture.
Technical literature could communicate specifications, but it required the audience to interpret dense product information without a clear visual reference.
Regal Rexnord needed to bridge the gap between engineering documentation and customer understanding.
- Reveal internal components that cannot be seen in product photography
- Explain technical features without oversimplifying the engineering
- Help sales teams communicate product differentiation
- Support conversations with technical and nontechnical stakeholders
- Create a reusable asset for product launches, presentations, trade shows, and digital marketing
The Problem
The engineering advantages of the SyMAX-PRO motor were difficult to communicate through exterior photography, technical drawings, and written specifications alone.
The Solution
Simplistic Views transformed Regal Rexnord’s engineering STEP files into an accurate, polished 3D product animation that revealed the motor’s construction and helped viewers understand its differentiating features.
THE SOLUTION
Transforming Engineering Files Into a Professional 3D Product Animation
Simplistic Views developed a fully rendered 3D product animation using engineering files supplied by Regal Rexnord.
Rather than creating a generic or loosely interpreted product model, the project began with the dimensional and structural data contained in the original STEP files.
Our team prepared and optimized the engineering geometry for use within a professional 3D production environment using professional CAD preparation and 3D animation software. The product was then surfaced, textured, lit, and animated to create an accurate visual representation of the SyMAX-PRO motor.
This approach allowed the animation to move beyond a simple exterior render. The finished video could rotate the product, isolate important components, transition between exterior and internal views, and guide the viewer toward the features most relevant to the product story. You can see a related approach in our product video work for ProHealth Longevity.
OUR PROCESS
From STEP Files to a Finished Industrial Product Video
-
Engineering File Review
Regal Rexnord supplied STEP files created during the product engineering process. We reviewed the available geometry and identified the components required to tell the product story.
-
Geometry Preparation
Engineering models are optimized for design and manufacturing rather than animation. The files were cleaned, reorganized, and prepared for a professional 3D animation workflow.
-
Model Optimization
Individual components were structured so they could be isolated, rotated, separated, and revealed throughout the animation.
-
Materials and Lighting
Digital materials and controlled lighting were developed to represent the motor’s surfaces, construction, and industrial design with clarity and depth.
-
Product Animation
Camera movement and component animation were used to reveal important details and guide the viewer through the product in a deliberate, understandable sequence.
-
Rendering and Post-Production
The final sequences were rendered and refined through editing, timing adjustments, transitions, and finishing to produce a cohesive product explainer video.
PRODUCT STORY
Bringing the SyMAX-PRO Motor’s Features to Life
Integrated Electronic Control
The animation helped visualize the relationship between the motor, integrated controller, terminal area, and surrounding components.
Permanent-Magnet Technology
Internal motor architecture that would normally remain enclosed could be revealed and explored visually.
Compact Power Density
The 3D model allowed viewers to understand the product’s proportions and the arrangement of components within its compact design.
Thermal Management
Controlled product views helped direct attention toward engineering features intended to support effective heat dissipation and operation.
Durable Construction
Detailed surfaces, close-up views, and professional lighting communicated the motor’s enclosure and construction quality.
Connectivity and Monitoring
The animation gave Regal Rexnord a platform for connecting the physical product to its broader communication, monitoring, and diagnostic capabilities.
Installation and Serviceability
Important terminal, controller, and service-access details could be shown individually without requiring the audience to interpret a complex technical drawing.
Product details reflect the official LEESON SyMAX-PRO product information.
Why 3D Animation Was the Right Format
Traditional video production can capture the appearance of a finished industrial product, but it cannot always reveal the engineering inside it. For the SyMAX-PRO motor, 3D animation provided a level of access and visual control that conventional photography could not.
Complete Visual Control
Every camera angle, reflection, product movement, and transition could be controlled precisely.
Access to Internal Components
The audience could see systems that would normally remain enclosed inside the assembled motor.
Engineering-Based Accuracy
The visualization was created from supplied engineering data rather than an approximate illustration.
No Physical Disassembly
The product could be separated, reconstructed, and examined digitally without modifying a physical production unit.
Reusable Visual Assets
The completed 3D model and rendered scenes created a foundation for future still images, alternate edits, presentations, and campaign assets.
Clearer Technical Communication
Complex product features could be introduced one at a time, making the information easier to process.
THE RESULT
A Technical Product Became a Versatile Sales and Education Asset
The completed 3D animation gave Regal Rexnord a clear and compelling way to present the LEESON SyMAX-PRO motor.
Instead of relying exclusively on written specifications, dimensional drawings, or exterior photography, the finished video made the product’s engineering and construction easier to visualize.
The animation created a reusable asset that could support product webpages, customer presentations, distributor education, sales conversations, trade shows, internal training, social media, and product-launch campaigns.
Most importantly, the animation helped Regal Rexnord show customers why the SyMAX-PRO motor is different rather than relying only on written claims.
Connecting Engineering Expertise to the Customer Buying Journey
For industrial manufacturers, an effective product video must do more than create awareness. It should help customers understand the product, give sales teams a clearer explanation tool, and make technical differentiation easier to communicate. This is a core principle of effective B2B product video production.
The SyMAX-PRO animation created a bridge between Regal Rexnord’s engineering expertise and the needs of the buyer.
By transforming engineering files into a structured visual narrative, Simplistic Views helped make a sophisticated industrial product easier to see, understand, and remember. A single production can also be extended into multiple reusable assets across the funnel.
