How ESPEC Created 52+ Thought-Leadership Videos at One Trade Show
ESPEC North America already had its executives, sales leaders, and technical experts together in one place at The Battery Show North America. In a few hours of focused interviews on the exhibit floor, Simplistic Views turned that access into more than 52 thought-leadership videos: a reusable library that gave the marketing team months of material for LinkedIn and other channels.

THE OPPORTUNITY
A Rare Concentration of Expertise in One Place
At The Battery Show North America, ESPEC North America had an unusually high concentration of knowledgeable people in a single location at the same time. The marketing opportunity was not simply to document the booth. It was to systematically capture the expertise of leaders who understand battery testing, environmental simulation, customer requirements, product applications, industry developments, and the questions buyers ask most often.
Outside of an event like this, those same people are difficult to schedule individually. Executives travel, sales leaders are in front of customers, and technical experts are supporting active projects. A trade show briefly removes that coordination problem by bringing everyone to one floor. That is the moment a planned trade show video production can capture months of material.
THE CHALLENGE
Technical Companies Know a Great Deal and Publish Very Little of It
Subject-matter experts are busy, and executive calendars are hard to coordinate. Technical companies often hold deep internal knowledge but publish only a small fraction of it. When that expertise stays in people's heads, the marketing team has little raw material to work with between campaigns.
Trade show investments are frequently treated as temporary campaigns, and event video often focuses almost entirely on a recap montage. A recap has its place, but a single highlight reel does not provide enough material to sustain an organic content presence for months afterward.
Before this project, ESPEC North America had very little recurring video content on LinkedIn. The goal was to change that without asking already-busy experts to sit for a series of separate shoots throughout the year.
THE STRATEGY
Produce a Content Library, Not a Single Video
Simplistic Views approached the day as a content-library capture rather than a one-video shoot. Before the show, we planned interview themes and identified multiple voices across the company, from executive leadership to sales leadership. The questions were written so each answer could stand on its own, which meant a single interview could yield several independently useful clips instead of one long conversation.
On the floor, the priority was capturing concise, modular responses while maintaining consistent framing and audio, and filming efficiently around each person's event responsibilities. Afterward, the footage was organized by topic, speaker, funnel stage, and audience, then edited into focused short-form pieces. This is the same principle behind learning to build a reusable video content library from a single production.
THE RESULT
From a Few Hours of Filming to More Than 52 Videos
More than 52 thought-leadership videos came out of a few hours of interviews. Instead of scheduling new productions again and again, ESPEC North America had a library ready to publish over the following months.
The interviews could be organized into a range of representative content categories, giving the marketing team flexibility in how and when to publish:
- Industry education
- Battery testing considerations
- Product and application knowledge
- Buyer questions
- Sales insights
- Executive perspectives
- Technical explanations
- Event-specific observations
CREDIBILITY
Why Featuring More Than One Voice Matters
Relying on a single spokesperson for every topic limits both credibility and range. Featuring several people lets each speak to what they know best, and it makes the company feel larger and more capable. Different voices serve different roles:
Executives
Establish direction and authority, and signal where the company and its market are heading.
Technical experts
Provide depth on testing methods, environmental simulation, and engineering considerations.
Sales leaders
Address the practical questions and requirements customers raise during real buying conversations.
Product specialists
Explain applications and help buyers match equipment to a specific testing need.
Team members
Make the company more visible and relatable, and put recognizable faces to its expertise.
Capturing this range in one sitting is what makes trade show executive interview production so efficient: the people who are hardest to schedule are already on site.
FULL-FUNNEL CONTENT
Turning a Trade Show Into Full-Funnel Content
The same few hours of interviews can feed every stage of the marketing funnel. Here is how the captured topics can map to buyer intent:
Awareness
- Industry trends
- Event observations
- Short educational clips
- Executive perspectives
Consideration
- Technical explanations
- Testing challenges
- Product applications
- Frequently asked questions
Decision
- Buyer concerns
- Sales insights
- Implementation considerations
- Product-selection guidance
Retention & Advocacy
- Customer education
- Product-support topics
- Team expertise
- Ongoing industry commentary
ASSET LONGEVITY
Extending the Value of an Exhibit Investment
The booth, travel, sponsorship, staff time, equipment, and registration already represent a substantial investment in being present at the show. Adding a planned content-capture system lets a company keep more long-term value from that gathering, well after the exhibit floor closes.
The point is content efficiency and asset longevity. A few coordinated hours produce material that can support awareness, education, consideration, sales conversations, recruitment, and follow-up campaigns for months. A trade show can capture far more than a recap when the production is planned around it, including:
- Executive thought leadership
- Sales insights
- Technical education
- Product explanations
- Frequently asked questions
- Industry trends
- Customer objections
- Buyer concerns
- Recruiting and culture content
- Social clips
- Sales-enablement videos
- Event recap content
- Website content
- Email campaign assets
- Future blog or article material
- Still photography and frame grabs

- Interview people from different departments and levels.
- Capture evergreen topics in addition to event-specific commentary.
- Plan horizontal and vertical deliverables.
- Obtain releases and internal approvals in advance.
